Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Thursday saw the school celebrating hari Pahlawan. This celebration was a wonderful opportunity to commemorate the heroic actions in the past that led to Indonesian Independence. It also gave students the opportunity to reflect upon the different types of heroism that has been displayed recently, especially by those who contributed so much during Indonesia’s pandemic response. Finally, it provided an example of selfless service that we can all try to emulate.

The Grade 10 students had taster classes for Grade 11 subjects during the week and enjoyed a very successful pathways assembly which provided them with practical help and guidance in choosing the best blend of subject choices for Grades 11 and 12. Thank you to the many parents who attended as well as the to the college counsellors and of course Mr Simon.

Next week is Global Entrepreneurship Week which is being marked as a continuum event across the school. There are many activities, show cases of student businesses as well as guest speakers to mark and event that is central to our school vision. Thank you to the continuum entrepreneurship team for their organisation.

Also next week sees visits from three universities, from Malaysia, Australia and Scotland respectively, as well as football games in the Surabaya sports league.

Finally, on Sunday 4th of December at 7.30 am we are co-hosting a charity Santa Run.  Details will be available via Instagram. This is a great opportunity to support Captivating International a charity that helps prevent human trafficking and at the same time socialise with parents, students and staff across the three schools. I look forward to seeing as many as possible at the event.

Have a great week.
