A memorable visit to Maimun Palace

A memorable visit to Maimun Palace

Maimun Palace is a royal palace of the Sultanate of Deli and a famous landmark in Medan. Today, it serves as a museum. Built by Sultan Ma’mun Al Rashid Perkasa Alamyah in years 1887–1891. The Palace has become a popular tourist destination in the city, not only because of its historical heritage status, but also because of its unique interior design with a blend of various cultures such as Malay-style Islam, India, Spain, and Italy.

On 2 September 2022 PrimeOne School Senior High grade XII students had a class trip to the museum. They were assigned by their teachers to make observations and take notes on the history of the palace. Upon arriving they were guided to the inside of the palace and were explained in details about that unique heritage. There were a lot to see such as:  a  variety of furniture, the throne room, paintings and a broken canon.  It was such an exciting and meaningful class trip for the students that they can hardly wait for the next trip.
