Faculty of Psychology UNDIP Held The 4th ICPSYCHE in the Context of Promoting Gender Equality and Good Parenting

The Faculty of Psychology, Diponegoro University has held an international psychology seminar entitled The 4th International Conference on Psychological Studies (ICPSYCHE) 2023 (06/05) online on May 6-7, 2023. The 4th ICPSYCHE in 2023 with the theme “Embracing the Human Side of Change: Promoting Gender Equality, Good Health, and Well-being in Family, Educational, and Work Settings” invited researchers, psychologists, educators, and stakeholders to engage critically with questions about what is happening and what can be done in many settings impacting families, both in Indonesia and internationally.

Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Undip said that the theme raised is related to humans, which means that change must bring humans to develop more and improve themselves to be better. “Our theme this year emphasizes that every human change (human side of change) is an opportunity for humans to develop (improving) themselves and try to learn many things,” she concluded.

Undip Rector, Prof. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. in his remarks thanked all those who played a role in organizing The 4th ICPSYCHE 2023 and hoped that the event would run smoothly. “Furthermore, we warmly welcome the participants, hoping that the participants will be successful in participating in this event, and enjoy this series of conferences,” said Prof. Yos.

The speakers invited to The 4th ICPSYCHE 2023 are Prof. dr. hab. Lucja Bieleninik with the theme “Music Therapy for Premature Infants and Their Parents during NICU Hospitalization and After Discharge to Home”; Prof. Dr. Rabindra Kumar Pradhan with the material “Emotional Intelligence in Everyday Life”; Annastasia Ediati, M.S., Ph.D. in material entitled “Rethinking Gender Inequality & Equality in Education: What Families Can Do?”, and Dr. Michelle Lee who presented about “Reducing Inequalities at Work”.

The keynote speakers in this international webinar are Prof. Dr. Melanie Zimmer-Gembeck who presented material on “Parenting in an Unsteady World: Correlates of Divergent Forms of Overinvolved Parenting” and Prof. Dr. Rosalia Sciorino Sumaryono with the theme “Gender Equity in the Post-Pandemic Era in Southeast Asia”.
