UNNES student, Putri Daffa Dianlin, won the World Championship title in the World Kempo Championship 2023

A student of the Public Health department in the Faculty of Sports Science at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Putri Daffa Dianlin, has achieved world-class success at the World Kempo Championship 2023 held in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. She won a bronze medal in the Synchronized Kata category, held from April 24-30, 2023. 

Her achievement helped the Indonesian contingent secure second place for the traditional Kempo category. In addition, Indonesia also ranked fifth in the fighting category. 

Putri Daffa expressed her gratitude for being able to give her best to bring glory to Indonesia on the international stage. She mentioned that the result required strong mental and physical efforts. 

“To participate in the world championship, I went through selection to join the national training camp for about a month. I trained every day, with four training sessions for about two hours each day. The training program consisted of physical and technical exercises,” she said on Wednesday, May 10. 

The Indonesian Kempo team won a total of 28 medals at the 19th IKF World Kempo Championship. The team received five gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals. 

Thanks to this achievement, the Indonesian Kempo team finished fourth among all contingents in the world Kempo championship, which was attended by 62 countries.
