Coventry University and UNIDA Gontor Forge Strong International Partnership

Coventry, UK – In a significant development for international cooperation in higher education, Coventry University has established a fruitful collaboration with the University of Darussalam Gontor (UNIDA Gontor). The partnership aims to foster academic and cultural exchanges, particularly in the fields of economics of Islamic Affairs, business, international relations, and academic writing.

During a recent video message published on 11 May 2023, Professor Mike Hardy, the founding director of the Center for Trust, Peace, and Social Relations at Coventry University, expressed his delight regarding the newly formed relationship and shared his thoughts on the partnership. He said, “I’m delighted to make this short reference to the extremely rewarding relationships that we’ve developed with UNIDA Gontor.”

Reflecting on his visit to UNIDA Gontor’s campus, Professor Hardy stated, “I was able to spend some time with Professor Hamid and his staff on campus at UNIDA Gontor, where I gave a lecture to several thousands of their students.” He commended the serious academic environment and expressed his satisfaction with the productive discussions that took place during his visit.

Speaking about the future collaborations, Professor Hardy highlighted, “Over the next period, we’re going to be looking at a number of collaborations within the economics of Islamic Affairs in the business school, with the development of courses and subject exchanges in international relations, as well as working on academic writing.” He also emphasized the language capabilities of UNIDA Gontor, saying, “UNIDA Gontor has an amazing reputation, of course, for speaking and working in English and Arabic on its campus, and it leaves us much to learn and much to pursue in our development in the future.”

Regarding the joint projects, Professor Hardy mentioned, “We’re going to be working on joint projects such as the launch of shared journals where international collaboration can be written and discussed in peer-reviewed journals hosted by both Coventry University and UNIDA Gontor.”

In conclusion, Professor Hardy extended his well wishes to the University of Darussalam Gontor, stating, “This is an extremely productive university focused on a curriculum that leaves values for its many students, and we’re delighted to be part of its journey in growing its international links. I wish them very well in their new international ventures.”

The partnership between Coventry University and UNIDA Gontor signifies a remarkable step forward in fostering educational excellence and promoting global connections in the pursuit of knowledge and mutual understanding.
