Astana – Thursday, 29 February 2024, lecturer at the University of Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khoirul Umam, M. Ec. and Assoc. Prof. Akhmad Affandi Mahfudz, CPIF. are invited to present their ideas at The International Scientific-experimental Conference with the theme “Current Issues of Islamic Law and Finance” at the Conference Hall, Maksut Narikbayev University.

This international conference is a conference held by the Center for Islamic and Kazakh Law in collaboration with Maksut Narikbayev Universiti and The Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) Authority which aims to resolve problems in the field of Islamic law and economics by gathering scientific analysis from experts.

The participants consisted of experts, academics in the field of economics and Islamic law from various countries in the world, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Republic of Tatarstan, Indonesian, Egypt and Bahrain. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khoirul Umam, M. Ec. talk about how to integrate Fiqh and Economics in resolving modern monetary and financial issues while Assoc. Prof. Assoc. Prof. Akhmad Affandi Mahfudz, CPIF. share the experience of Green Sukuk in Indonesia.

Also attending this conference, 3 UNIDA Gontor lecturers as guests of honor. They are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Setiawan Bin Lahuri, MA., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Imam Kamaluddin, M.Hum., and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syamsuri.

In the opening session, Dr. Neşet Bodur, Religious Services Counselor, Turkish Embassy said that this international conference is very important because it can identify Islamic legal and economic problems from various countries and formulate solutions to these problems.

Apart from that, this activity also held an exhibition of works related to Islamic law and economics, including the 240 year old holy book Al-Qur’an.
