Another achievement was achieved by Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia students. This time again, they came from Lampung’s mainstay archers who studied at Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia.
The Teknocrat Archery UKM team won 2 gold and 1 bronze in the archery championship held by Perpani Kota Metro on 23-25 September 2022.
In the 70-meter Recurve Individual number, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia won a medal on behalf of Fani Fernando, a 2018 student of Sports Education. Fani Fernando won two gold medals from the qualification and the 70-meter Complaint.
Meanwhile, Ricky Nic Kevin, a student of Sports Education class 2021, won 1 bronze from the 70-meter Complaint.
The achievement was warmly welcomed by the Chancellor of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, Dr. HM Nasrullah Yusuf, SE, MBA. Represented by the Vice Chancellor, Dr H Mahathir Muhammad SE MM, the Chancellor congratulated the students for the brilliant achievement again.
The rector said the archery championship this time was a place to show off skills and maintain the rhythm of the competition. Thus, each athlete can evaluate the achievement of training so far. This kind of competition, he said, is important to be followed to measure the readiness of athletes so that there is an improvement.
Vice Rector Mahathir Muhammad added that from the beginning Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia gave full support to students who competed in all events. Both related to academic and non-academic.
The campus, he said, will provide full support for every student who will represent the institution and even the name of Lampung at national and international levels. Not only on the day of implementation, during the exercise the campus also provides full support.
Mahathir said this achievement is certainly a form of contribution from many parties. He also expressed his gratitude for the contribution of mentors and coaches who have been accompanying athletes during training and competing.
Mahathir wants future archery to contribute more medals. Not only for campus, but also for Lampung. He wants more archers from Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia to join the Lampung archery team at national and international levels.
