Registration for Universitas Negeri Semarang’s (UNNES) Independent Selection for the 2023 academic year has begun. UNNES has opened 5 Independent Selection paths this year.

Head of UNNES Public Relations Zaenal Abidin SSi MCs PhD stated that the UNNES Independent Selection is the selection for new students for the D3, S1, S2, S3, and Professional levels, which is independently held by UNNES in the form of a written/online exam and/or an arts/sports skill test.

He added that the 5 UNNES Independent Selection paths for this year are the S1 Achievement Path with registration open from March 1 to June 9, 2023, S1 Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Excellence Path with registration open from March 1 to June 9, 2023, S1 International Class Path for prospective Indonesian students with registration open on March 1 to June 9, 2023.

Furthermore, the Professional Education Counselor Path registration for the first wave will be open from March 1 to April 28, 2023, while the second wave will be open from May 22 to July 14, 2023, and the S2 and S3 Regular Path registration for the first wave will be open from March 1 to May 3, 2023, while the second wave will be open from May 15 to July 18, 2023.

Zaenal Abidin explained that the S1 Achievement Path aims to improve the quality of new UNNES student inputs and as a form of appreciation for students who have outstanding achievements or have won in sports, arts, subject olympics/competitions, or religious fields.

In addition, the UNNES PGSD Excellence Path is held to improve the quality of new UNNES student inputs in order to improve primary school teacher candidates who are excellent and followed by Professional Teacher Education (PPG).

Meanwhile, the UNNES International Class Path is held to improve the quality of new UNNES student inputs and the Professional Education Counselor Path as a form of participation and support for the government’s efforts to improve the quality of educator competencies, especially counselors.
