UNIDA Gontor–Tuesday, 2 May 2023, all of the Civitas Academica of University of Darussalam Gontor present and participated in the opening of the new academic year 1444-1445/2023-2024. Located this event in the lobby of the Main Building. This event started at 07.00 AM and was officially opened by the Rector of University of Darussalam Gontor, Prof. Dr. KH. Hamid Fahmy Zarkasyi, M.Ed., M.Phil., and closed with a prayer guided by Dr. K.H. Ahmad Hidayatullah Zarkasyi, M.A.

Rector of University of Darussalam Gontor Prof. Dr. KH. Hamid Fahmy Zarkasyi, M.Ed., M.Phil., in his remarks expressed his gratitude to the Civitas Academica of UNIDA Gontor who have been disciplined in coming at the appointed time to start the new school year. Apart from that, he is also grateful that all of us Civitas Academica have gone through the Covid-19 pandemic which has worried so many people and finally we can carry out our usual activities again, even though with the pandemic, activities at UNIDA Gontor are still running as usual.

Rector also advised new students that they come to a pesantren-based campus, they will become ‘santri’, be treated like ‘santri’ and also have morals like ‘santri’. That way, students will get plenty of time to continue to improve themselves and if they do not take advantage of the time they have, they will be the ones who will lose and lose. Apart from that, he also advised new students to have good intentions and be serious about studying at UNIDA Gontor. In doing good must be serious.

In addition, he also advised old students to improve and renew their intention to return. Even monotheism alone must be renewed every day. He added that old students should finish their studies immediately and not delay their graduation. He also advised students not to worry about the future, because Allah SWT has promised to always provide convenience in every job if we believe in the process. At the end, he emphasized to the entire Civitas Academic to be more serious in their activities at UNIDA Gontor and to start the year with seriousness.

At the end of the event Dr. K.H. Ahmad Hidayatullah Zarkasyi, M.A. completing it with a joint prayer as a sign of the end of the opening ceremony for the new academic year 1444-1445/2023-2024 UNIDA Gontor Main Campus. Hopefully UNIDA Gontor will continue to progress and become a place to build pillars for the revival of Islamic civilization in the future, Aamiin.
